Details
This 12 Gauge slug is ideal for deer hunting in areas where a rifle’s bullet would pose too great a risk of traveling into other areas where bullets had best not fly. It features a ⅞ ounce Foster-style slug, which is specifically designed to be fired through a smoothbore barrel. The slug possesses a deep hollow in its rear, which grants it appreciable stability. It further sports ribs on its exterior that serve to minimize friction between itself and the bore. This slug is very slightly oversized, which facilitates its passage through the barrel to give it a consistent muzzle velocity of 1,875 fps. You may optionally fire this slug through a rifled barrel for even better accuracy.
As is the typical case with a Foster-style slug, this shell is roll crimped. That makes it harder to reload, although by no means impossible with the right equipment. It is produced by Remington, who owe their more than two centuries in business to the excellent quality of the ammunition and firearms they produce. This fine shell is in no way a deviation from the company’s exemplary track record -- 250 of them will keep you very happy for a long hunting season.
