Details
True to its name, Federal’s Ultra Clay & Field line of ammunition excels both at shattering clays as well as hunting for upland game. This is due in no small part to the superb quality of the primers, shell casings, and evenly spreading wads that the Minnesotan company makes for all of their products. In this 12 Gauge shell’s case, it’s also due to the versatility of the one ounce of #7.5 lead shot that it is loaded with.
#7.5 lead shot is ideal for taking smaller birds, as its relatively small size can take them down without spoiling them altogether. (There is nothing less satisfying than pulling off an amazing snapshot with little to show afterward other than a handful of feathers.) The size of these pellets permits them to spread very well at ranges of up to 50 yards, making them ideal for birds in flight in addition to clays. What’s more, with its muzzle velocity of 1,290 fps, this shell even has the oomph to drop a tom if it is near enough by. Between their universality and the peerless quality with which they have been manufactured, 250 of these shells will permit you to shine wherever you might fire them.
