Details
This 12 Gauge shell by Federal is loaded with one ounce of #8 lead shot. That shot size, with its .09” diameter pellets, is optimal for taking small birds because it has the weight to penetrate their light plumage but not to turn them into mincemeat from distances of about 30 yards. With its muzzle velocity of 1,180 fps, this shell will let you close distances fast between yourself and birds as well as fast-flying clays. This is a shell that’s as at home in the field as it is on the range.
This shell’s eight-segment crimp is ideal for its smaller pellets, as that design holds a little lighter to provide less resistance upon firing. Along with its reliable primer, clean burning powder, and quality wad that promotes even patterning, this shell is one more instance of its Minnesotan manufacturer’s mastery in its craft. Federal has designed thousands of cartridges and shells since their establishment in 1922, and this shell falls in no way short of their commitment to excellence.
