Q: Can this round be used in a smooth bore shotgun?
Posted On: 11/28/2019 By: Perry Strother
A: Hi Perry. Thanks for looking to BulkAmmo.com for your shotgun ammo! Sabot slugs should only be fired in a rifled shotgun barrel. There are two reasons for this. First, accuracy suffers a lot out of a smooth-bore since the projectile's stability in flight comes from the rotation of the projectile, and second, some sabot materials can leave traces plastic in the bore making cleaning the bore a job. Since there is no advantage and accuracy suffers, I would advise you stay with the standard rifled slugs. Give me a call and I can help you pick the best one for your needs. 800-720-6035
