Details

These 20 gauge slugs from Federal Premium exhibit light recoil alongside game-dropping energy that all hunters will love. slugs utilize a special wad and sphere system that yields extremely tight groups from smoothbore shotguns. Underneath each 3/4 ounce slug is a polypropylene ball backed by a collapsible wad with a flared fringe. When the round is fired, the wad traps the ball within the slug's rear cavity which forces the skirt of the slug outwards. This results in constant, uniform contact with the barrel which not only ensures that the rifled slug will fly straight but that it will gain increased spin stability for long range accuracy.

This entire system is contained within a 2-3/4 inch length, moisture resistant hull and high-brass head that is equipped with a non-corrosive Boxer primer. A small divot in the slug's frontal section acts as a hollow-point and helps to initiate wide expansion upon impact with a deer. During entry, the slug's widened body will cause it to yaw after penetrating past tough hide and bone. This results in a larger, free-bleeding wound cavity as well as a devastating amount of energy delivered to the important vital zones. Federal ammunition is American made using in-house components that are backed by nearly of century of experience. They are respected for innovative designs that tailor to the needs of law enforcement professionals, competitive shooters, and the most demanding hunters.
