Details
This 22 Short cartridge by CCI sports a 27 grain projectile. The bullet’s lead core is copper plated, so its has a nice heft for good momentum and penetration, but also feeds smoothly, resists corrosion, and protects your firearm’s bore against lead fouling. The hollow point bullet will expand upon impact, making it an effective choice if you’re planning an afternoon sending squirrels down from tree tops so they can bounce off each branch on the way down as though they were part of a pinball machine. This cartridge’s extremely low price makes it an absolute must for extended plinking sessions, and its muzzle velocity of 1,105 fps falls just a hair under supersonic speed. That means only the squirrels will be bothered by the sound of you firing it.
Based in Idaho, CCI was founded by Dick Speer -- coincidentally enough the brother of Vernon Speer, who founded the ammunition company much more frequently associated with the Speer name. CCI is well known for the quality of their rimfire ammunition, as they’ve continually developed interesting technologies for making it since their foundation in the 1950s.
