Details
A proven Varmint round with a speedy 35 grain projectile in the widespread .223 cartridge gives access to legitimate long range varmint performance to most American shooters via the AR platform or the prevalent .223 bolt actions on the market. A great way to get introduced to the fun shooting sport of varmint hunting from prairie dogs to coyotes and everything in between this is a very good round to play around with to see if Varminting is your thing.
The 35 grain projectile is an NTX, which is a combination of technologies made by Hornady including their copper alloy frangible core; the polymer tip and the copper jacket/shell. The combination of these components produces a California compliant hunting round (other states have no-lead prohibitions as well – check your own state’s laws before choosing a hunting ammunition). This NTX produces devastating energy dump and explosive terminal performance upon impact for the small and moderately sized animals for which this load is capable of dispatching.
4000 feet per second velocity and 1240 ft. lbs. of energy means you are going to drop what you hit; Hornady accuracy means you are hitting pretty much anything you’re aiming at.
