Details
If you're looking for an amazing deal on 223 hollow-point ammo, you have found it! Loaded 62 grain bi-metal Hollow-Point projectile, this cartridge is safe for AR-15 platforms that run .223 or 5.56x45mm NATO. The .223 Hollow-Point is very popular for boar hunting, and many shooters find Hollow Point rifle rounds to be more consistently accurate than full metal jacket rounds. While Hollow-Points are often significantly more costly than FMJ ammo, this .223 HP made by Tula Cartridge Works is extremely reasonable.
Russian ammunition manufacturers have a penchant for making steel-cased ammunition. While some shooters like to load their own ammo to their own specifications, Tula ammo is a great choice for the shooter that enjoys sending rounds down range into the target. Hollow-Points are preferred to FMJ rounds for self-defense and hunting because they are designed to change shape upon impact. Some may open up, while others may flatten upon impact. The result will be a wider transfer of energy on the impacted target. An FMJ will pass through without changing shape, and may not have as much stopping power per round. Tula ammo is polymer coated and made to stand up to extremely harsh conditions.

These seem a little more dirty than the premium stuff but the 62 grain HP works wonders on hogs. Close to 800 rounds used and only a few failure to fires, my mini 14 eats these with no issues. (Posted on 2/12/2019)

Got my shopping real quick, and I ordered after thanksgiving. I read lots of bad reviews about Tula, however I went ahead and ordered this ammo. I had no problems. Not one jam, as some of the reviews I viewed said, shot rapid, and single shots. Shot about 300 round and not one problem. (Posted on 12/25/2016)

Great price for target ammo. My shipment came 40 rounds short and they very helpful and just asked a few questions and that same day after contacting them about the shortage they had sent out what I was missing. (Posted on 11/7/2016)

This ammo feeds well and seems to work well in my M&P Sport II. The main draw back of the steel casing is no reloading, but you don't have to track down the spent rounds. I would buy it again. (Posted on 7/11/2016)

AR ran no problem, not one issue. My Tavor did not like it, did not what to feed it, eject it. While still in the plastic holder, i used a paper towl, light oil and just rubbed over the exposed sides real quick, not enough that there is oil running down, you really couldn't if you didnt know what i was doing, and then it ran fine, after that no issue. Accuracy was a nice superise . Not as dirty as everyone seem to say, and i ran 600 through the Tavor, and it doesn't look like it shot 600 rounds. Great site , Great prices, this was my first order through Bulk, and i will order again. Shipping took a week, but im on th west coast. (Posted on 4/22/2016)

I got the ammo for my bushmaster ar15 and I didn't know what to expect but to my surprise it was great for the first steel casing ever shot through it, it shoots straight and has a nice amount of power in have shot around 700 rounds of it and the only thing I have had an issue with it noticed that about every 300 rounds I would have a casing swell in the chamber after fireing it not a real big deal but was strange other than that I have had no issues with it and my AR eats it up. I hope this helps somebody, and I'll be buying another 1000 rounds soon (Posted on 4/18/2016)

I love this stuff, out of 1000 rounds, I had 1 FTE, in my AR pistol. Which may not have been the fault of the ammo, I ended up putting a reduced friction BCG in the pistol and never had another issue. This stuff is not match ammo, so don't expect it to be. It's great training ammo. It's $100 or so cheaper than brass, it's fun to shoot, and great to practice with and keep your skills up (Posted on 4/6/2016)

I used this ammo at the range and had excellent groups at 200 yds. NO ftf or ejection problems. I also used this ammo for deer hunting this year and dropped all of them where the were shot at 200 yds. Will continue to buy this excellent ammo. (Posted on 4/4/2016)

I ran 500rds thru the AA gas piston rifle I built and had no FTF or FTE and accuracy was also WAY better than I expected with my 1 in 8 twist ARP Socom barrel out to 100yrs with 1.5" to 2" groups the norm . At 200 yrds accuracy was not bad, with a 9 mph cross wind I could still hit the 8" plate using the eotech. Cleaning was a breeze, I dont think it was any different then the PMC ammo I have tried.
I just ordered another 500rds for fun shooting to save on my reloads. (Posted on 8/5/2015)

I ran this ammo in rifle course. Its great for practicing immediate action malfunction drills. Up to 50% of rounds were failure to fire from bad primers. I had good performance in past with Tula 55 grn but the 62 grn HP gave inadequate first impression. (Posted on 6/17/2015)

This ammo is acceptable for some range fun but that's about it. Accuracy at 100yd was good out of my 16 inch 1 in 7 twist ar15. First time using this stuff I shot 150 rounds and had one failure to eject due to the ejector tearing part of the rim off. Very annoying but easy to clear. This stuff isn't the highest quality but then again I won't be going into combat or hunting with it. For the price I recommend it but I always keep a small stockpile of high quality ammo if I need better accuracy and reliability. (Posted on 4/17/2015)

Ran 60 rounds through to sight in a new scope. Had previously bought WPA 55 grain but learned that Bushmaster has a 9 twist and performs much better with 62 grain. Tula fed wonderfully, was clean firing and left very little residue. Very pleased with this ammo and will buy agin. (Posted on 8/18/2012)

i purchaced tula rounds in the summer great deal so i thought. I never had a round get stuck in my upper like the tula did. Not because my rifle was dirty trust me it was clean i am in the marines and clean it every time i shoot. so i used my bore punch and unfammed the caseing, and tried it again. same issue. I then inspected the rounds and realized that they seemed not as smooth as the brass rounds so i put some lubricant on the caseings and tried it again. go figure that works great. since then i shot over 500 rounds through my ar15 no failures at all. once i figured out the problem i had alot of fun shooting the ammo. i will purchase this brand again just keep in mind you need to put a lubricant on the caseings. i gave 3 stars because of the hassle of putting lube on the caseing but once it is on i would say it is a 4 or 5. Q: Are these magnetic? Reason I'm asking is the range doesn't let me shoot the bullets if it sticks to a magnet and I already bought 1000 rounds of the silver tip ones and they didn't let me shoot them
Posted On: 2/7/2017 By: Sargis Muradian
A: Hello Sargis,
This ammunition is loaded with a bi-metal jacketed projectile. Currently all Tula ammunition is loaded with projectiles that contain steel and will not pass any type of magnet test.
