Details

Let’s be honest: the .25 ACP is not renowned for knockdown power. In fact, some people would probably go as far as to say that the exact opposite is true. We know this for a fact, in fact; the author owned a Beretta 21A Bobcat in .25 ACP many moons past.

If you have decided to hold onto your .25 ACP pistol rather than stepping up to the plethora of decent .380s available out there, you had better put the best ammo humanly possible in there to...compensate.

Hornady’s XTP® is the best ammo possible for a lot of applications, and particularly so for the pint sized .25 ACP. Engineered for the explicit purpose of maximum penetration and expansion while retaining weight. When you are dealing with a 35 grain bullet, every little bit helps.

At a respectable 900 fps from the muzzle, the .25 ACP packs a thunderous 63 ft/lbs of energy (kidding, kidding). All joking aside, this is probably the best option available to plug into your little pocket piece. It sure beats your other option, which is most likely 50 grains of FMJ. Well, it still beats being unarmed.

A: The .25 ACP caliber is not known for great power. However, for those who have .25 ACP pistols and wish to use them for self defense, the XTP bullet is a good choice. It offers the best balance of penetration and expansion available in this caliber.
