What is FTX? FTX is the cool design of Hornady. They are flex tipped bullets that are designed with the hollow point in mind. They offer quick expansion and 15” of penetration in ballistic gel tests consistently. Superman – faster than a speeding bullet? I’d like to see him try this one at a muzzle velocity of 2000 feet per second!

The FTX bullet technology was designed for quick expansion, penetration, velocity and smooth feeding in mind. Regular hollow point bullets don’t have the same velocity because of the nature of their shape. They are too rough around the edges and create drag. FTX rounds are engineered to get rid of that drag and slice through the air giving it it’s crazy velocity of 2000 fps. Changing the projectile shape also made it easier to penetrate different types of surfaces such as leather, denim and thick clothing for instances of personal protection, and thicker hides and skin for hunting.

Hornady FTX .30 Carbine ammunition brings your M1 Carbine into the 21st century with their ballistic technology. Silver nickel-plated rounds are fed smoothly and are great for low light situations. They are visible more easily for chamber checks and have additives added with propellant to reduce muzzle flash to help you retain night vision. They’re great in any situation!
