Details
This 308 Win cartridge by Colt was manufactured in the Barnaul Cartridge Plant in Russia, a factory that specializes in the production of ammunition with steel casings. As is always the case, steel casings make their ammunition more cost-effective at the trade-off of being non-reloadable. This trade-off is, of course, moot for shooters who don’t handload anyway. Because these cartridges’ casings a sport zinc plating, they still feed and eject remarkably well.
This cartridge features a 168 grain boat tail bullet with a full metal jacket. The boat tail brings value by stabilizing the bullet’s flight for increased accuracy, as well as helping it to resist the deleterious effects of cross winds. The bullet’s full metal jacket makes it much slower to foul your bore, so you can enjoy tight groupings for longer in between cleanings. It also ups its penetrating capability, something to take into account if you don’t want a bullet anywhere behind your target.
