This 38 Special cartridge by Sellier & Bellot sports a 158 grain projectile, which is the weight the caliber’s bullet was originally available in. The bullet’s partial jacket stops just short of its tip to expose its core. This enables the bullet to expand somewhat as it deforms upon impact, giving it performance somewhat like what a hollow point would provide, as well as the ability to tumble within targets to create a wide wound channel.
