If you are reading this, chances are high that you primary focus in shooting is defending you and yours. This is most noble of causes, but the converse is that self-defense situations, particularly home invasions, are very high-speed and chaotic. The vast majority of society has never been to an advanced law enforcement or military training course on engaging hostile targets, so it largely reactionary in nature rather than controlled movements. It is very likely that bullets meant for assailants would carry through structures and hit innocents.
SinterFire has created a line of munitions designed to maximize stopping power yet minimize the risk of penetrating walls and structures. Their SpecialDuty in .380 ACP consists of a 75 grain JHP projectile which is frangible.
The frangible project is designed to unload all of its energy into a soft target, whereas rounds which glance off, ricochet, or just miss and strike portions of the structure will essentially dissolve and powderize on impact. This also leads to a truly devastating wound on the target, but provides much more safety and security to bystanders who have taken cover behind soft structures.
Since this projectile is relatively light, it carries a higher velocity than the standard 90 grain JHP common to .380 ACP loads. This further exaggerates the wound caused by the 75 grain JHP since it is more apt to expand completely, providing tremendous stopping power in a light package.
For the sake of your loved ones’ safety, take a look at the SinterFire 75 grain JHP in .380 ACP. It is tragic enough that we must prepare to ward off attackers and home invasions, and much more so that an errant shot may put our own further in harm’s way.
