These rounds are loaded with .40 Smith and Wesson 180 grain FMJ or Full Metal Jacket bullets that are wrapped in a copper jacket and have a one-piece lead core. They have a muzzle energy that hits with authority at 400-foot pounds. They also have a muzzle velocity report of 1000-feet per second.
These .40 S&W rounds come in 100 round cans, in a case of 10 cans, making a 1000 round case. The 40 caliber Smith and Wesson became a hit extremely fast in the Law Enforcement community. It quickly became the round Police Departments issued to their officers all over the USA. It was designed in 1990 using a downsized 10mm case and the 180 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point .40 caliber bullet. Smith & Wesson and Winchester joined up to make the cartridge that is used all over the US, the .40 caliber S&W.
