“Do you feel lucky, punk?” Who could resist throwing that line in a description of .44 Magnum ammo? But in all seriousness, the .44 Magnum remains an extremely potent caliber for any number of applications, and Sellier & Bellot has you covered with a hot one for your revolver or lever gun.
Despite its age, the .44 Magnum is still one of the most powerful dedicated handgun cartridges available. Of course it has been usurped by a number of super magnums like the .454 Casull, the .480 Ruger, and the .500 S&W. But it has advantages those do not favor: lower cost, availability of ammunition, and, well, heritage! Every shooter wants to handle a big Model 29 with that infamous 6 ½” barrel.
The other tremendous advantage of the .44 Magnum is the availability of carbines chambered in the cartridge. Whether you like lever guns, semi-automatics, or even break open and bolt action, there is some sort of carbine out there for you. The muzzle velocity posted from a 6” barrel of 1,181 fps will increase to approximately 1,392 fps from an 18” barreled carbine, so you can imagine what the increase in muzzle energy would be.
S&Bs 240 grain SP in .44 Mag is a hard-hitting round which carries a ton of punch. It is very well suited for your back country trail gun in bear country, or to take a whitetail in handgun season. Still retaining over 70% of its muzzle velocity out at 100 yards and only showing -10” drop, it is very well suited for handgun hunting.
You don’t often find quality .44 Mag ammo in bulk cases so it will do you well to grab it up while you have the chance. This is a great deal and you do not want to miss out so get it fast!
