Details

Gold Dot jacketed hollow points are the self-defense load of choice for many CCW holders and police agencies around the country. This standard pressure loading of the Gold Dot in .45 ACP is perfect for your 1911, Sig P227, Springfield XD, or Glock 21. It fires a 230 grain bullet at 890 feet per second, combining typical .45 Auto ballistics with anything but typical terminal performance.

The Gold Dot bullet is a bonded-core design that fuses the jacket to the lead of the bullet and prevents core-jacket separation. Each Gold Dot load is optimized for its particular cartridge to take advantage of its strengths and mitigate its weaknesses, resulting in better results in self-defense situations.

Each round uses Boxer-primed nickel-plated brass cases. Gold Dots come in boxes of 50 at a reasonable price to make it easy to shoot what you carry.
Speer of Lewiston, Idaho produces highly regarded bullets and loaded ammunition. Its bullets are popular among other ammo loaders due to their high quality, reasonable price, and excellent ballistic performance. However, the company has also enjoyed great success marketing its own defense-oriented loaded ammunition products such as Gold Dot self-defense and Lawman practice ammo, which is designed to mimic Gold Dot ballistics without the expensive hollow point bullet for economical training.
