This 5.45x39mm cartridge from WOLF Performance Ammunition’s Military Classic product line sports a 55 grain hollow point projectile. Upon impact, this cartridge’s bullet will expand outward to cause debilitating damage within a soft target.
In the Russian fashion, this cartridge offers a Berdan primed steel casing. It is not reloadable, but if you never intended to handload anyway, then this cartridge’s lesser cost to manufacture than a comparable brass cased round will make your wallet very happy. The casing features a proprietary PolyFormance polymer coating to facilitate with feeding and ejection, and it will perform very well in an AK-74 rifle.
WOLF Performance Ammunition is headquartered in Placentia, California, and since their foundation in 2005 they have served to provide affordable ammunition for agreeable prices. Really, forfeiting reloadability is the only significant drawback to investing in these rounds.

Q: is this ammo steel core?

A: Hello Jon,
These 55gr. HP rounds by Wolf in 5.45x39 have a lead core, but Wolf sometimes uses a bi-metal jacket on the projectile and a steel case so they do attract a magnet. For non-magnetic rounds, I would suggest a brass cased round.
