Hornady developed the 6.5mm Creedmoor caliber with intermediate precision mind; the kind of accuracy that's useful for taking down whitetail deer, one of America's favorite game animals. These cartridges from the American Whitetail line align with that purpose by way of consistent performance and proven terminal effect. Each round utilizes a 129-grain InterLock bullet which is intended to expand at a calculated rate during entry into a target so that it passes through a deer's thick defense layers before slowing in more vital areas and depositing its momentum. The projectile achieves this by way of an exposed lead tip and the InterLock ring which prevents copper jacket and lead core from coming apart under turbulence.
That locking effort is assisted by a toothed cannelure which serves as the bullet's crimp point in order to shrink groups and prevent malfunctions caused by setback. Hornady seats the InterLock soft point into a brass casing which is brand new and can be cleaned and reloaded later. The casing contains efficiently burning powder and is fitted with a non-corrosive primer; both component choices contribute to cleaner and more accurate rifles whether they are piston operated, direct gas semi-autos, or classic bolt-actions. Hornady's ammunition is manufactured in Nebraska and backed by nearly seven decades of experience and work ethic which has produced some of the most novel projectiles in use today.
