These soft point rounds are a great option for long bouts of training and weekend-long deer-hunting parties with your favorite 6.5mm Creedmoor rifle in tow. Each cartridge consists of a clean-sparking Boxer primer fitted to a reloadable brass casing that is filled with clean-burning powder. Both the primer and powder have been specially selected for the load to offer ample performance at long range. This focus on effectiveness at a distance is complimented by a heavyweight 140-grain soft point projectile which has a higher ballistic coefficient for long-range punching power. 140 grains is also one of the original factors designed by Hornady, the inventors of the caliber.
The soft point projectile has an exposed lead tip which flattens upon striking a target, causing the bullet to expand outwardly as it travels into a game animal. This transformation is designed to impart greater force into a target, spreading lateral energy into vital areas in order to hasten bleeding and drop a deer or hog with ease. Not only is this more humane for the animal, but safer overall as the deformed bullet is less likely to exit a target with lethal velocity. This ammunition is manufactured by Sellier & Bellot, a Czech-based company with a stellar reputation for dependable function and fair prices.
