Ordered Wednesday night arrived Friday morning! Great price so I ordered 2. I must not be a favorite buyer because I never recieved a can opener like others above who wrote a review and yes I do know it said no can opener included. Once again, I found myself ordering from BulkAmmo.com and they have truly delivered on this one! Since I have a love for Soviet weapons, I cannot help but control my delight at this amazing deal of 440 rounds for this price. I own several Mosin Nagants that are my go-to plinkers and keeping them 'fed' is cheap. These cans are built to last and will stand the test of time, humidity and water.

Of course, since Soviet ingenuity is unparalled in the world of 54R weapons, these cans are difficult to open without the standard Soviet Can Opener, which can be found at surplus stores, gun shops/shows, online for less than $5. You could also be a self-proclaimed cheapskate and pry open the lid but why waste such a cool artifact that makes for a great wall-hanger and conversation piece for collectors like me.

Best choice, get a can and if you don't like it, you didn't invest much. Whether you are a firearms historian, collector, plinker or zombie prepper, this 54R will fire no matter what. Its reliable, low cost and downright awesome! (Posted on 2/19/2015)

Almost through my first can of this since recently becoming the proud restorer of a Tula Armory 1929 Mosin with an octagonal receiver. I also received the can opener with my first can. Just a word of caution when digging the ammo pouches out of the corners after cutting the can open..."In Soviet Russia, can opens YOU!"...yeah, painful, lots of blood, but I learned. Goes boom every time out of my 86 year old rifle, and the rumors I have heard about the Mosin's marginal accuracy? No problems here...all black at 150 using the original ring and dovetail sight. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of this stuff. It makes a massive hole in the target. Bare brass cases...and not the lacquered steel crap you get "newly manufactured". The product description says that this doesn't come with a can opener, but mine had one in the package when it arrived.
I've not had any issues with this ammo, it cycles properly and fires good too. I'd say it's fairly accurate too, but no two Mosins are likely to fire with the same level of accuracy. However, with my own 91/30, this surplus ammo hits about dead on for where I'm aiming.

Corrosive ammo so remember to clean your firearm after each use. Came in sealed can, mint condition. Mine came with a can opener which is very useful. packs of 20 in paper packets inside, great for long term storage or budget shooting. Must buy for any Mosin-Nagant owner. (Posted on 7/30/2014)

I decided to place an order for this Thursday July 3rd wasn't expecting it for about a week but bulk ammo came through even on a holiday weekend it showed up Saturday of the 5th!! Picked up one of these spam cans. Great price for great ammo! Of course, it is corrosive, therefore cleaning your weapon after shooting is highly recommended then again, who doesn't love the smell of Hoppes 9 after sending some lead downrange? I have never had any kind of issues with surplus 54r. Just be sure your firearm can accept 54r and that it is in full-working order (as inspected by a Professional Gunsmith).

This DOES NOT come with a Soviet can opener!!!! You can find a Soviet opener anywhere (local surplus store, armslist, ebay, amazon) for $5. Otherwise, you'll have a hell of a time trying to open it without one. Again, great ammo for a great price!
