Details
Hotshot Ammunition is made in Romania, and is offered to the United States market by Century Arms international. As one might expect from ammunition manufactured in the Soviet Union’s former neck of the woods, this cartridge features a non-corrosive Berdan primed steel casing. The casing sports a lacquer coating to help it feed and eject reliably as well as give it some protection against corrosion. Steel’s lower cost to produce than brass is nicely reflected in this cartridge’s price tag, so it’s a perfect solution provided you don’t wish to handload it.
This 8mm Mauser cartridge has a 170 grain projectile. The bullet’s lead core has a full bi-metal jacket, which helps it penetrate tough targets and also spares your bore from excessive lead fouling that loosens groupings.
Once upon a time, the 8mm Mauser was one of the most popular military rounds in the world. Now outdated for warfighting, it’s still a great option for hunting.
