Details
This 7.92×57mm JRS Mauser cartridge by Sellier & Bellot sports a 196 grain capped hollow point bullet. The bullet’s copper cap covers its hollow point, improving its ballistic performance until impact when the hollow point can expand to cause thorough damage within the target. The “JRS” (which may also be called JSR) in this cartridge’s name denotes that its casing is rimmed and sports a .323” diameter projectile.
Sellier & Bellot has the pedigree of a cartridge manufacturer that has been around since 1825. They are well-known for their ammunition’s high quality components, and as such their products are favored by competitive shooters, hunters, and law enforcement agencies the world over. The 7.92×57mm Mauser round was adopted by the German empire in 1903-1905, and was the German army’s service cartridge in both World Wars. (You may want to keep it separate from any 7.62x39mm cartridges you have lying around.)
