This 9mm self-defense round from Hornady is a perfect choice for someone looking for a self-defense load with more manageable recoil. Hornady’s Critical Defense Lite line was designed to reduce recoil especially for compact pistols. This round features a 100 grain FTX projectile that may be lighter than most people are used to for their self-defense loads, but with Hornady’s FTX projectile, it can still get the job done. The FTX technology is designed to reduce clogging and result in more controlled and consistent expansion even after passing through heavy clothing.

Q: Is this Hornady 100 gr more suitable for something like Ruger lc9s? Wondering about the above review where 1 yr later he shot 2nd box after Steve told something. What's the deal? I've been carrying Corbon in G19 or G26 since I 1st read about how great back early 90s. I know ammo has come a long way and Corbon may have changed something. I still have the old ones 115gr and newer. Glad I really bought different ammo from y'all when I really didn't have money, being on disability. I would love more but can't at current price.

A: Thanks for reaching out Marc! This ammo would certainly work well in a LC9s. It is low recoil ammo, though its lightweight bullet loaded to a lower muzzle velocity means it wouldn't offer comparable stopping power to a conventional full-power load. Corbon continues to make excellent ammo, though, so if you've got a good supply of their 9mm JHP ammo I'm happy to say you're well stocked.
