Details
USA Forged 9mm from Winchester is intended as a brass-jacketed FMJ alternative to imported steel ammunition. Offered at a significant discount to Winchester's brass-cased variants, USA Forged is the least expensive US-made 9mm Luger ammo we've ever found. Winchester uses the same brass FMJ bullets in these cartridges as they do in Winchester USA. This ammunition is boxer-primed, steel-cased, and non-reloadable.
Winchester Ammunition is part of the Olin Corporation and has headquarters in East Alton, IL. Recently, they moved some operations to Oxford, MS where they make their rimfire ammo as well as center-fire pistol loads.

Since all events I shoot and my indoor range are "no pickup" cases I no longer buy brass ammo. This stuff was the least expensive when WalMart sold ammo!It still is one of the least expensive. Comes in 150 round boxes as ab=n option, when available. Perfect for three entries at each event. Stock G-19X, Competition G-34, & Unlimited w G-34 Mos w/ Viper. All my 9MM Glocks work perfect with it. It is still close the least expensive "new" ammo as required by GSSF. And low cost means more practice. 20 events last year, not one problem. With a 4" X and 8" 10 ring accuracy fine. Why spend more! (Posted on 3/24/2020)

I rated this ammo as a 5 star because I am using it in several 9MM
guns, including my R51. No jams no failure to feed/eject or any other
other problems. (Posted on 12/1/2017)

I bought this ammo and the price was great, until I fired it. First it jammed with the first round! Second I had about 20 jams with 100 rounds. Not the greatest at all. Third, it made my Walther PPS so dirty I had to spend about an hour to clean it. Never will purchase this again. Cheap ammo with cheap quality, you get what you pay for. (Posted on 6/28/2017)

I have shot several hundred rounds, no jams, no misfires, but the ammo is dirty and my gun is a mess to clean after target practice. I'll finish up what I have, but no more. (Posted on 2/12/2017)

I shoot a lot of 9mm including many steel cased rounds from different manufactures, when I saw that Winchester was offering a steel cased less expensive 9mm round I was excited to try it out.
I use all types of ammo brands, bullet weights etc. This by far is the most unreliable ammo that I have ever used, almost every third round jammed and in many instances the shell would not eject. I have never had this problem with any different manufacturers steel cased round. As the gun got warmed up the problem only got worse. There is that old saying about steel cased ammo " shoot it as a last resort..." in the case of this ammo I would burn it up at the range immediately at least this way you get rid of it and get a lot of practice unjamming your pistol.
For the record I shoot a Sig P938 compact and a Sig P226, both guns were equally problematic with the steel forged Winchester ammo. (Posted on 9/4/2016)

For less than $0.20/shot, this is pretty good ammo aside from your hands looking like you just got off from work at the steel mill. My Ruger SR9e spits this ammo out like a Texas kid eating watermelon with seeds. Love it. I trust Winchester rounds based on my years of using their ammo in my rifles and shotguns. I am very reluctant to use ammo from the old Soviet bloc countries but that is just my feelings about ammo which comes from outside. The other stuff is probably good but I will use this. Friends and I shot around 300 rds through my G19. All went downrange without a hiccup. Leaves your hands a little dirty, same with your gun, but in my experience Glocks love living in the dirt. (Posted on 7/21/2016)

Q: Is this ammo steel core? The range I shoot at, Oak Tree Gun Club in Los Angeles, doesn't allow steel core ammo. I have some of the Tula bulk 9mm which is steel core so I'm looking for other options that are not steel core.
Posted On: 8/19/2017 By: Mike
A: According to Winchester, while the cases are steel, the bullets are "Brass jacketed lead core bullet (safe for use in all firearms and on all ranges)"
Q: How many fps does this 115 grain forged steel ammo from Winchester average?
Posted On: 6/10/2016 By: miamimike0804yahoo.com
A: Hello Mike!
Winchester lists the muzzle velocity of this round at 1190 fps with a muzzle energy of 362 ft. lbs.
