It is no coincidence that the 9mm Luger remains perhaps the most popular self-defense caliber in the world, let alone law enforcement and military services. And why wouldn’t it? It has a lot going for it: low recoil, relatively low cost, easy to find, and accurate. Mix those factors with the unparalleled reliability of the Hornady name and you know that you have a winner!

Hornady 9mm jacketed hollow points (JHP) are not what you would call a utility round. They are not a do-it-all go-getter that does lot of things okay but nothing really well. No. Hornady 124 grain JHPs are thoroughbreds, designed to drop on assailant on the spot. Considering their long and storied reputation, it appears they have succeeded.

Hornady eXtreme Terminal Performance (XTP®) is designed for hunting, self-defense, and law enforcement applications where stopping power and accuracy matter a lot. This variation runs at 1,110 fps from the muzzle of a 4” barrel with 339 ft. lbs. of energy. These numbers drop to 1,030 and 292 respectively at 50 yards, 971 and 259 respectively at 100 yards. Granted, most 9mm applications will get you nowhere near that 100-yard mark but it's nice to know what it would be if you needed it.

Buying your Hornady 9mm XTP in bulk is the best way to buy it so you can stay in business for longer, or equip your department much more economically. Pick up a case now and you won’t regret it!
