Details

Winchester ammunition is made here in the USA, and has long been a go to for shooters for their ammunition needs of all types. Founded in 1866 they now produce anything from ammo for the range, to hunting, to self defense. This is accomplished from their new plant opened in 2005 located in Oxford, MS filled with all state of the art ammunition production machinery. As of 2016 Winchester celebrated their 150th year of a proud American traditional of supplying the military and public with high quality ammunition.

The Winchester 124 grain +P PDX1 Ammunition is part of Winchesters premiere line of self defense ammo. As with many manufacturers, they take this type of ammunition's quality very seriously as they know that one day you may depend your life on it. The case is made of nickel plated brass which is ideal for feeding reliability and corrosion resistance. This cartridge will have slightly more recoil than a standard pressure round, but will travel at around 1200 feet per second and generate 396 foot pounds of energy. When it comes to defensive use you can never go wrong with more power, but you will want to be sure you are accustomed to the recoil as it will be noticeably different than a lighter loaded 124 or 115 grain standard pressure FMJ range round. Pick up a few boxes, to run through your gun, and a few boxes to load your carry magazines.
