A: Thanks for reaching out Bob! Recoil energy is a product of four factors: muzzle velocity, bullet weight, propellant weight and firearm weight. When a 9mm round's bullet weight goes up, its muzzle velocity typically also goes down. You may indeed notice that a 147gr load has a little bit heavier recoil energy than the same manufacturer's analogous 115gr or 124gr load, but the difference is so slight that you may note no difference at all. In fact, it's very difficult to predict how much recoil a shooter is actually going to perceive – what they feel is totally subjective and thus impossible to measure! I'd be interested to see if you think this ammo kicks a little harder than the lighter bullet loads.
