Details
These surplus ammo cans are of the .50 caliber variety and made for Lake City ammunition are slightly rusty on the exterior surfaces. This might be a perfect purchase for someone who wants some cheap cans for restoration or who are more included to being handy. A little buffing with a scotch bright pad and some touch up spray paint and these would offer many more years of service. As they sit, they are still able to be used in every way that a non-rusty can would be used, albeit a bit dirtier.
For the hobbyist that cannot pass up a good deal, these would be perfect for reconditioning and then range use for transporting gear ammunition and equipment. These are still weathertight and offer high grade interior finishes, which make them perfect for storage in humid environments. The seals are still intact and the handles and mechanisms still work; this is purely a cosmetic thing with the boxes.
These are mostly Lake City stamped, though we make no guarantees as to what you will receive as far as stampings are concerned. Some boxes are better than others, but all are functional. This is mostly surface grade rust with some small scaling and minor pitting on the worst sections of corrosion. It still does not affect the waterproofness of each box.
